Reader comment on item: How Terrorism Obstructs Radical Islam

Submitted by David W. Lincoln (Canada), Aug 23, 2005 at 11:51

To divorce the scimitar wielding aspect of Islam from the non military coerciveness, which is also part of Islam, is tantamount to amputating perfectly healthy limbs from a healthy body. They are part of the same larger picture.

When you take a look at the second class status that Christians have to put up with in countries which are majority Muslim, we get a better picture of Arab ...in religious garb. There are some who care, but until such time as a lot of work is done by Islam to clean up its act; the best way for them to proceed down the road of democratization in the right direction is to make it clear that religious pluralism is part of it. Also part is the insistence that no one is a second class citizen.
