Reader comment on item: How Terrorism Obstructs Radical Islam
in response to reader comment: islam is a peaceful religion

Dear Mr. Muslim:

You wrote that "there is no compulsion in religion" and this is indeed a Qur'anic verse.

Now, I have a few questions for you:

1. Would you agree with me that Chapter 9 (sura 9) of the Qur'an is the last revealed sura of the Qur'an?
2. I'm sure that you are familiar with the doctrine of al-Naskh wa al-Mansukh (abrogation) so are you?
3. Would you agree with me that aya (verse) 9:4 is also known as ayat al-saif or the sword verse (and the infamous: iqtulo al-mushrikeen or kill the idolators)?
4. Are you also familiar with 9:29 and 9:30 (to the readers in these two verses the author(s) of the Qur'an declare(s) an unconditional war by Muslims against the people of the book or ahl al-Kitab (Jews and Christians and if you believe the likes of Karen Armstrong included here would be Hindus and Zoroastrians and just about any known religion to mankind that has a scripture), because the author(s) of the Qur'an accuse(s) the followers of these religions of being idolators) and these groups must pay this mafia tax knows as" Jizya. So would you agree with my ta'weel (exegesis) of these two verses?
5. Now based on the doctrine of abrogation would you agree with me that 9:4, 9:29 and 9:30 would aborgate the "there is no compulsion in religion"? I'm sure you will agree with me, and if so so much for Islamic tolerance and so much for "there is no compulsion in religion"!
6. And here is your bonus question: if there is indeed "there is no compulsion in religion" in Islam why are Muslims out there trying to convert us (infidels that is) to Islam?

I'm worried about you Mr. Muslim because your knowledge of Islam in regard to this subject matter is not adequate, and if so why should I or any of the readers believe the rest of your comments?
