" or that God may exist in fire!" - If you are referring to Moses and the burning bush, you are the only person I know of that thinks the Fire was God. The fire was a manifestation of God's power, a sign showing Moses that he was truly communicating with the almighty.

Pray tell me, what was the proof that convinced the original followers of Islam that that religion is truth? For Judaism, aside from our forefathers being prophets who received personal communications from God, we also have massive miracles and a nation-wide divine revelation which convinced our people to follow God and his Torah (teachings). As far as I'm aware, the Muslims only had Mahammad's word on which to base their faith, and the Christians have at most only a handful of people. In both cases it's not a large group of witnesses that simply passed the truth down to their descendants, but small groups of people who went about proselytising many other people. As such, they look like movements motivated by grandiose ambition, rather than truth.
