Its not the drinking of alcohol that is a crime its the sins that people committ when they are drunk..'

no - in many countries with Sharia law the actual drinking of alcohol is banned. Are you deliberately lying - or is it that you just do not know what your 'religion' espouses?

'...You can be a christian, polytheist or anything under an islamic state..'
In theory - yes - in practice, in many Sharia countries, Jews and Christians are persecuted because they don't buy in to the Islamic BS. And you forget to mention the 'jizya' Qur'an 9:29 - the tax that Christians and Jews etc have to pay Muslims for not towing the Muslim line. Hey, should the UK introduce a similar tax ON Muslims - just for being Muslims? How do you think they would react? Scream discrmination and abuse of human rights etc etc ? Or should the whole idea of Jizya be scrapped - but that would be going against the Koran wouldn't it - so that's a bit of a quandary for you. Just how much Sharia do you want to introuduce?

helen continues:

" you just cannot try to take people away from islam i.e try to convert people from islam to christianity."

Take yourself back 70 years and place yourself in Munich, Germany. You could see the rise of yet another totalitarian system with its own set of laws coming about. YOu realised otherwse intelligent peole were accepting it - partly through fear and partly through tacit agreement with some of its principles. o mater how you explained it to them - they could not become aware of their situation. Wouldn't you have least a moral obligation to warn them of the danger?

In the same way, if yet another totalitarian belief system comes along which also has a sinister nature - don't people who can clearly see this have a moral obligation to warn people ?

" As i stated before it is the western governments who are not allowing the muslims establish sharia law in the muslim countries, they want to keep their cake and eat it at the same time!"
What on earth are you talking about ? What 'cake' does the Muslim world have that Westerners want?

" As for medievel laws i would call allowing paedophiles to be released after 2 months in prison and then be given victim support and change of identies medievel! "
YOpu must be refwerrring t some legal case I'm not aware of - and one which no doubt correctly raised the ire of normal, thinking human beings. Are you saying such sentences are routine in the UK - and everyone thinks it's OK.

Seeing you're so well versed in English leagl matters, tell me - have there been any recent cases of 53 year old men repeatedely having sex with nine year old girls? What do you think of such people? And what would you think of such a person who then insisted he was a prophet of some sort. Interestingly - the now 60 year old man recently caught in California for having captured an 11 year old girl and imprisoned her for 18 years in his backyard and having fathered her two children - claims God speaks to him regularly.

Fascinating parallels aren't they? I wonder whether he will claim his revelations came to him at no other time than when he was in bed with his 11 year old.

"Do you really think that muslims in the middle east look at the west and crave for the values of the west! "
They certainly crave the education and technology, wealth, general impartiality and fairness of the justice system, rights to freedom of speech, medical system etc etc. So yes - they do. That's why so many leave to live in the West.

Or hadn't you noticed?

It's very easy to find examples of lfe under Sharia , Have a look at some of these - if you can bear to read anything that is at odds with your present rose-coloured world view of Islam.

and here's a relative smorgasbord for you - with MANY contributions from ex-Muslims who have cast aside the desire to remain deliberately ignorant of the real effects of Islam in the world.

Sharia and non-Muslims

Under 'Sharia' law non-Muslims must pay tax called Jizya if they want to live safely in Muslim states, otherwise the state refuses to protect them, even though it protects the Muslim citizens. Recently a minority community of Sikhs was forced to pay Jijia to live safely[81] in a Pakistani region controlled by Taliban.

Under Sharia a non-Muslim is worth half that of a Muslim (see Diyya) under certain circumstances."

"

Qadi 'Iyad ibn Musa al-Yahsubi argues that Sharia does not allow freedom of speech on such matters as criticism of Muhammad and that such criticism is considered blasphemy against Muhammad. He writes:

"The Qur'an says that Allah curses the one who harms the Prophet in this world and He connected harm of Himself to harm of the Prophet. There is no dispute that anyone who curses Allah is killed and that his curse demands that he be categorized as an unbeliever. The Judgment of the unbeliever is that he is killed. [...] There is a difference between ... harming Allah and His Messenger and harming the believers. Injuring the believers, short of murder, incurs beating and exemplary punishment. The judgment against those who harm Allah and His Prophet is more severe – the death penalty."[104]

[edit] Homosexuality

Homosexual activity is illicit under Sharia; however, the prescribed penalties differ from one school of jurisprudence to another. For example, these countries may allow the death penalty for sodomy though not for other homosexual activities: Iran, Mauritania, Nigeria[citation needed], Saudi Arabia, Somalia[citation needed], Sudan, United Arab Emirates and Yemen."

"The woman and the man guilty of adultery or fornication—flog each of them with hundred stripes: Let no compassion move you in their case, in a matter prescribed by God, if ye believe in God and the last day."[Qur'an 24:2] "Nor come nigh to adultery: for it is a shameful (deed) and an evil, opening the road (to other evils)."[Qur'an 17:32]

In most interpretations of Sharia, conversion by Muslims to other religions, is strictly forbidden and is termed apostasy. Muslim theology equates apostasy to treason, and in most interpretations of sharia, the penalty for apostasy is death. During the time of Muhammad, treason and apostasy were considered one and the same; nowadays, many scholars differentiate between treason and apostasy, believing that the punishment for apostasy is not death, while the punishment for treason is death.

In many Muslim countries, the accusation of apostasy is even used against non-conventional interpretations of the Qur'an. The severe persecution of the famous expert in Arabic literature, Nasr Abu Zayd, is an example of this.

Insulting Muhammad or blasphemy has also resulted in the death penalty.[132]"

A very telling comparison between Mo and Jesus Christ for example - we see in the paragraphs above:

""The woman and the man guilty of adultery or fornication—flog each of them with hundred stripes:" from Mohammed Quran

However when a woman was presented to Christ as a fornicator - and about to be stoned - his response to the accusers was 'let he who is without sin cast the first stone'.

Quite a difference in perception and attitudes don't you think?

Why is that you might ask? The reason is that one was an enlightened being - and one was a total fake who made up his own religion.

"See you on judgement day xxx"
You have no guarantee of that. Is that just before you go off to get your 72 virgins and an inexhaustible carafe of wine and a bunch of green cushions? But what do you do as a woman if you're not gay? Won't you be the slightest bit disappointed?
