But not in the West

Reader comment on item: Why Shariah Must Be Opposed
in response to reader comment: nothing wrong with sharia law!

Submitted by Judaeo-Christian (Germany), Sep 14, 2009 at 14:37

Dear Helen, if Muslims want to live by Sharia law, let them do so in the Islamic countries and not attempt to impose a medieval system in the west! If life is so wonderful under this law, why do they come to the UK, Australia, America, Western Europe...? Hardly any crime? About 90% of the women in Pakistani prisons, for example, are not there for having committed a crime, but for having been raped! The rapists get off scott-free because there must be four eyewitnesses to a rape (male, of course!) and it's the woman's fault anyway for tempting the man.

Another thing about wearing a burqa (or a headscarf): it's to keep men from becoming aroused by the sight of a woman's hair, etc. The poor things are so much at the mercy of their hormones that they simply can't help themselves and might be impelled to assault the immodest female! Oh, come on! Are Muslim men so lacking in character and self-control? Apparently so, according to this logic. Grow a spine, guys, and grow up!
