Reader comment on item: Why Shariah Must Be Opposed

I hate to disagree with you, but my grandmother spent her final years in a Jewish nursing home in NYC which had a big sign at the front desk saying that while they knew many residents weren't Jewish, it was still forbidden to bring non-kosher food into the facility. I think the Muslim owner of a nursing home should have the same right. Nobody is compelled to live in the Queens Care Centre, and those who are uncomfortable there are free to move. There are many good reasons for opposing Shariah, but this usn't one of them.

Were the Queens Care Centre a Muslim institution, it would be comparable. But, as my account made clear, it has not a single Muslim resident. The cases differ fundamentally.
