For a sensible manReader comment on item: Why Shariah Must Be Opposed Submitted by Edwin (Canada), Jun 19, 2010 at 00:18 On the one hand, you have made some fairly sensible statements, which create the impression of an intelligent and sensitive person, then you make statements like "Islam is a universal faith". This is clearly and demonstrably not the case. To be universal, it must apply equally to everyone. Some people have not accepted the requirement of a superstitious belief system at all, so it does not apply to them. Others have vastly differing superstitions. It is necessary first to prove that a system of superstition is important, before you can assert the importance of one over the other. The principle value in shared superstitious belief systems is in communal bonding. It does not matter what system any group follows, provided only that they follow the same one. If a system of superstition promotes discord, as Islam appears to do, then it is not even a valid system of superstition, let alone a "universal" one.
