Reader comment on item: Why Shariah Must Be Opposed

Submitted by Howard E. Cook (United States), Dec 13, 2009 at 04:10

"Things fall apart/ The center cannot hold" was W.B. Yates description of Europe on the verge of WWII. Black Elk described the collapse of his culture in similar terms: "There is no center anymore, and the sacred tree is dead." Black Elk became a Catholic, a culture with Rome for a center. Osama bin Laden, too, appreciagtes the spiritual significance of a center. and sent his men destroyed the World Trade Center. Congressman Tancredo had the audacity call for the USA to nuke Mecca, Islam's spiritual center. The House of Submission against the House of Warfare recognizes a world divided into two centers. For the umma, 9/11 is another war in the long history of Islam. Why Sharia? When and if Sharia replaces the American constitution, Washington can become the seat of Islam's new Califate -- a global center. Wake up America, and remember the words of Karl von Clausewitz: "Timidity will do a thousand times more damage than audacity."
