The same argument about Israel existence before 1948 can be made, but let us not go there. The land that you assume Israel is "surrendering" is occupied land as per international law, the law that govern relation between nations, not the law of the Jewish people. I can make a new religion that say god promised all the land east of the Mississippi to the Habsis clan, can we claim ownership because we have our own holly book that tell us so? and again, let us not go there, it's a slippery slope.

International law say that the land (west bank, east Jerusalem and Gaza) is occupied land, occupied by Israel.

The only true source of determining the possession of the land is by the dictate of UN resolutions, not the Hebrew scripture, sorry, but this is how it is.
