Why did Jews vote for Obama?

Reader comment on item: A Rapid and Harsh Turn against Israel
in response to reader comment: A Rapid and Harsh Turn against Israel. I did not vote for Obama, because I suspected this would happen.

No one should be surprised by any of this. Obama is Muslim. He is part of an anti-semitic church. He has a history of associating with pro-palestinians, and terrorists.

What astounds me is why Jews would vote for this guy. You can be quite certain that no muslim would have voted for a Jewish president! How can we expect anyone to support Israel and Jews if there is such a lack of loyalty from within.

A number of months ago, a university in Toronto had an incident where a large group of students (mostly muslim, but others as well) blocked the exit of a Jewish student organization on campus, and were screaming things like "dirty Jew", etc. One of the loudest voices of this group was one Jesse Zimmerman, a Jew who was loudly against "Zionism".

Where would American Jews go if there was resurgence of antisemitism as in the past. Israel?

I think one of the problems is from within, and lack of loyalty from within our Jewishness!
