Abbas says that life is normal for Palestinians

Reader comment on item: A Rapid and Harsh Turn against Israel

Submitted by Anthony Dayton (Canada), Jun 4, 2009 at 10:56

Life in Palestine is described as living under a siege, with the wall dominating life, lack of work and always the oppressive hand of Israel. There was what I found to be a shockingly unbalanced piece of what I'd call propaganda in this month's National Geographic, blaming Israel for the declining Christian Arab population.

But in this interview, Abbas smugly lays out his plan to sit tight and wait for the pressure to build on Israel, saying that the Palestinians can afford the time as "we have a good reality...the people are living a normal life."
