Dr. Pipes ,

I remember you submitted an article sometime back on the middle east peace plan , then you favoured Gaza to be ruled by Egypt as well as the West Bank taken by Jordan. I find following problems with this suggession. I would like to know your viewpoints about the following points.

1. First of all both Egypt and Jordan are running by tyrannical albeit pro-Israel dictatorships , both will be worried about the large number of Palestinians who increasingly support Hamas which is opposed to both the current regimes in Egypt and Jordan.

2. Both Egypt and Jordan have a substancial and large base of Muslim Brotherhood present within it's borders. As of now Muslim brotherhood will benefit in this scenario after receiving a large number of Palestinians as possible recruits.

3. The Palestinians themselves will oppose to be ruled by the dictatorships of countries like Egypt and Jordan.Hence extremism will grow among the Palestinians this will result in more trouble in future for Israel and US.

---- For the above reasons I believe that Dr.Pipes's suggesion of Gaza ruled by Egypt and Jordanian rule over the West Bank is neither viable nor realistic. I would like to know your comments on my points.
