'Palestinian' Right to Exist Does Not Supercede Israel's Right to Exist

Reader comment on item: A Rapid and Harsh Turn against Israel
in response to reader comment: Palestinians have the right to exist as well

There is no denial of the 'Palestinians' to exist, even as they currently do. What the bone of contention be gnawed at is the development of a national existence which, prior to the efforts of Yasser Arafat and his contemporaries, did not exist.

That the 'Palestinians' desire a state of their own should not be denied necessarily out of hand, but to do so at the expense of Israel alone (for who else will surrender land to accomplish such a thing?) goes against the practicality of melding the peoples who share more in antipathies than anything else. Did the world not learn from Yugoslavia?

Only in abject denial of history does anyone declare Israel's holding of ancient lands 'illegal,' for their national heritage is overlooked. The inappropriate Roman expulsion of the Jewish population from their land should be evidence enough as a basis for a claim on Judea and Samaria, which was then overrun by the Muslim occupation. After the British overthrew the Ottoman occupation, the name 'Palestine' was more permanently associated, but unlike historical Israel, without a true national identity.

Now, without the religious fervor of the extremists, Muslim, Christian and Jewish alike, the only true source of determining the possession of the land is by the dictates of the Holy Hebrew Scriptures that give witness to the nature of Israel's right to the land. This comes in verification by fulfillment of the declaration of Israel's Almighty God, that He will reinstate her, and He has. Only in defiance of Almighty God will the human argument insist that Israel does not have the right to her own land, and that will be adjudicated by the completion of the prophecies regarding Israel in judgment against the nations who stand in the way.
