Reader comment on item: A Rapid and Harsh Turn against Israel
in response to reader comment: Caveat Viator - The 'Road Map to Peace' Does Not Have the Blessing of Israel's Prince of Peace

Finally Israel is not being given a blank check by an American politician. Both Arabs and Jews for to long have been involved in this folly and have used American dollars to promulgate this fraud of a conflict. Extremists on both sides care nothing about the average Palestinian or the average Israeli - it is power politics and religion and its worse. Just because Obama has finally truly gone to the middle doesn't mean the sky is falling for Israel. Israel long ago agreed to curtail building in the west bank and needs to hold to their end of the agreement regardless of what the palestinians do at this point. The time is coming when both sides, and I believe Obama will do this, will be forced into a guaranteed American agreement on the two state solution. Everyone will lose something and everyone will gain something except for apologists for one side or another. It's time for extremists on both sides of the argument to grow up - put aside their religious fantasies and leave childhood behind.
