Reader comment on item: Decision Time on Iran
in response to reader comment: all must unite

Submitted by Octavio Johanson (Italy), Nov 7, 2006 at 17:34

Yes, we must all unite before going into a war with Iran. As a European, I am not keen on foreign policy. All I care about is my own country and the European Union. Therefore, I am less keen on war than, say, the Americans. However, it seems that this confrontation with the mad Mullahs cannot be avoided. Let us try to build a coalition.

My view of the world is rather parochial. Whatever happens in Iran does not normally bother me, nor do I think that I should be telling Muslims what to do in Muslim countries. However, Daniel Pipes has made a strong case for deciding on Iran. Europeans and Americans are different. I was reluctant about the Iraqi war and I am reluctant about this one. But, we need to take Iran more seriously and stop the threat.
