You should read more about the history of the current area we call Iraq. It has always been a bloody mess going back to the Ottoman days. The Sunni, Shia, and Kurds have a built-in deadly animosity towards each other. Only a ruthless, maniacal dictator like Hussein could keep a lid on things by the "iron fist"----much like Stalin did in the USSR and Tito did in the Balkans. Remember Bush the first didn't go after Hussein cause he was advised not to.

Bush the second was and still is under the influence of the cabal who have developed a scheme known as the PNAC (Project for a New American Century) and so we're in Iraq. But as you say, hind sight is always 20-20, but nonetheless a serious mistake was made that may have consequences far into the future.
