no tears over the Jews

Reader comment on item: Decision Time on Iran

Submitted by Yuval Brandstetter MD (Israel), Nov 1, 2006 at 07:47

The Persian regime has chosen its first victim very cleverly, a victim so used to being victimized, in a world willing to accept only the victim-hood of, that no one stops them.

In reality, the Persians have no quarrel with the Jews. The opposite may be true, that Jews and Persians are fast friends. Israel does not stand in the way of the Mahdi. But, if Persia had threatened Saudi Arabia or Qatar, the US and Europe would have rushed to destroy the Atomic infrastructure. But a threat of annihilation over the Jews, that is perfectly acceptable, even laudable.

Ergo, it may be that the threats to annihilate Israel are but a smoke-screen for the real thing, which is the dominion over the Persian gulf, and its products, and ascension to world-power status.

My prediction is, the US and NATO will do nothing to lift this thermo-nuclear threat from Israel, and will only act when it is clear to them Israel is just a decoy.
