Mike, how can you call Ahmed's demagoguery "reasonable"?

Mike, I agree with your post, but I just cannot understand how you could accept Mr. Ahmed's criticism as reasonable. His collection of nonsense talk and outright lies are an insult to basic intelligence.

"The United States must start talking to its enemies." Wow! Such a revolutionary idea….How come it didn't cross our minds till now?

"This President and many conservatives have slipped into this shoot first ask questions later." What an untrue and sly accusation! What the heck is the whole world, including the USA, doing besides trying to peacefully persuade the Iranian regime to abandon its nuclear ambitions? The right and burning question is actually how long can we still afford to wait, till we realize that with terrorist regimes like the Iranian there are no viable alternatives left except shooting out their world domination ambitions. Arthur Cohn correctly noticed that Ahmadinejad is copying Hitlers tactics of 1938. The question is for how long can we afford to continue copying Chamberlain's tactics?

"Can we return to protecting Americas shores, limiting our foreign entanglements, operating in a fashion that is constrained, thoughtful and that puts our own country first." This is another piece of "revolutionary" thinking. The only problem is that it is not new. The USA tried to adopt this kind of isolationist approach several times in the past and the result was always the same: it always backfired; and very painfully. Pearl Harbor is one of the best remembered instances when this lesson was painfully learned.
