These non Arab, Arabic speaking, so called experts are the living proof that knowledge of the language, is by no means any indicator of an understanding of the people speaking it. Disproving their claims should be simple.

If Israel is to be any example, one should consider it has absorbed close to one million Arabic speaking Jews from all over the Arab world. And being a democracy of only a few million Israel must have according to the Arabism claims, the best policy toward the Arabs states in the whole wide world. Therefore speaking to the hamas and the brotherhood might not be such a good idea after all.

Humor aside, I have found the best forecasts and analysis off the Arab world over lengthy conversations with elderly Jewish people forced to flee their homes lives and 2,500 year old communities. One day part of the most distinguished elite, and the other a refugee bribing his way out of the country.

Therefore in summation: dear Arabist, after you master the Arabic language, take some time to master their culture and special way of thinking. There is of course no way to sum up the Arab "character", yet it is probably does a lot of good to immerse yourself in their culture and live with them for a while. They think and behave in a totally different way than we are used to.

Believe me, So many hundreds of thousands of jihad victims over the last few decades can't be wrong about that.
