ReligionReader comment on item: Not Stealing Palestine but Purchasing Israel Submitted by Ianus (Poland), Jul 14, 2011 at 10:06 Dear Moshe, You write : > From some unclear reason instead of addressing my arguments, you are concentrating on your hatred and contempt to everything which has to do anything with religion.< If you really think that respecting spurious opinions can be a virtue, then may I ask you what feelings I should cherish towards correct opinions like those proposed by science? Cuique suum , my friend. I am afraid you can't make a fair or serious charge based on what I feel towards religion. > I also beg to bring to your kind attention that this is not the subject under discussion. Could you kindly tell us why are you so persistently mixing religion in our discussion instead of factually addressing the issues?< True, I have got no illusions about the validity of the claims made by religion. But I am not so naive either as to ignore the overwhelming power religion does exert over the minds and actions of those that allow themselves to be guided by it. Hence I find discussing religion a most natural and desirable topic to talk about on this earth. I'd also like to draw your attention to the fact that the role of religion emerged quite naturally in the course of our dicussion of ancient Israel. Modern Israel as a free secular state has never been a subject of our diagreement, if I am not mistaken .
