Reader comment on item: Bolstering Moderate Muslims
in response to reader comment: Delusions for everyone!

Submitted by Romesh Chander (United States), Apr 22, 2007 at 16:50

Noah:

Remember, this summit was held in St Petersburg, Florida, which is in USA, not in Cairo (Egypt) or Islamabad (Pakistan) or Mecca (Saudi Arabia) or in the bastian of 'moderate Islam' Turkey or Indonesia. You dare not discuss secularizing Islam in Muslim countries lest you lose your head. No, there are no moderate muslims in muslim countries, and even in western countries.

If there is going to be any moverment to 'reforming' islam, it will have to originate from muslim countries, not by a few muslims living in the comforts of a free country like US.
