Reader comment on item: Bolstering Moderate Muslims

Submitted by Brian Chatwin (United States), Apr 21, 2007 at 22:36

Dr Pipes,

Is this too little too late? Isnt engaging moderate Islam like bailing out a sinking ship with a thimble? With the rise of radical Islam in Europe, with Turkey virtually an Islamic state, and the Middle East a bastion of radicalism- won't your approach only be felt on the margin?

While I believe moderate Islam can be engaged domestically in the United States I fear that moderates abroad might need more than just an American pen pal.
