Miles, I believe you've really missed the point here. He is of course, free to choose his own destiny; but to do that he must abdicate. It would be immoral for him to take on the role of Defender of THE Faith (Christianity) when he neither believes in it nor follows it. His mother does.

You really should look into the Quran if you believe it doesn't matter. If you want "our great nation" to be under Shariah Law, because that's what many moslims in this country want, most of whom have more of a voice than you or I. If that did happen you wouldn't have a choice which path you want to follow.

It matters a very great deal.
