in response to reader comment: the truth about sulawesi

Submitted by John R. Linard (Canada), Jul 21, 2007 at 15:14

Hello Mr Indonesian,

I have, in fact lived and worked in Sulawesi, Java and Kalimantan. I have seen the abandoned Christian villages where the residents were slaughtered by muslim mobs in the 1960s, I have seen the despicable behaviour of Muslim transmigrants in Kalimantan, I have seen the destruction of the "Chinese" quarters in Jakarta and I have seen the increasing islamification of Indonesia.

I don't have hatred in my heart. I feel great distress for the vast number of honourable, decent, respectful Indonesians as the the lunatic fringe drags them backwards into a 7th century cesspool.
