in response to reader comment: Lets try and come to common terms between us and you

Dear Esan: I believe we agree that marriage should be between a man and a woman, and that we should be true to our religion, pray, not go into debt, and of course allegiance to God. In those respects we are totally agreed.

I do not follow vanity at all, I have worked hard, not went into debt, paid for all my purchases, and do not owe my creditors anything. I pay my bills which is more than alot of Americans do. I pray, go to my church, help those in need, charities, ministries. I am not a gamber, a drinker, or use drugs of any kind. I am totally dedicated to peace, prosperity, and treating everyone with respect.

My concern for Islam is that it states to kill the infidels, that do not accept the religion.

Sura IX Immunity And when the sacred months are passed, kill those who join other gods with God wherever ye shall find them; and seize them, besiege them, and lay wait for them with every kind of ambush: but if they shall convert, and observe prayer, and pay the obligatory alms, then let them go their way, for God is gracious, and merciful.

Islam is saying to innocent people who live religious lives, if they do not follow Islam, they could be murdered. I'm sorry I have a problem with a religion that is to be holy and peaceful, ambushing, or killing those, just because they don't worship Allah or Muhammed.

Don't you realize there are some really wonderful, and God loving people in America, who are really living holy lives, and don't deserve this kind of treatment. No one has ever addressed these violent ways to me, so I am trying to understand.

Matthew 5: 44 Jesus tells us But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your father in heaven. This is peaceful, there is no violence in this statement, it tells us to resist evil, no matter what we are struggling with. This is indeed holy, not harming your enemies who have harmed you.

Matthew 6:1 says Be careful not to do your acts of righteousness before men, to be seen by them, if you do, you will have no reward from your father in heaven. This is totally humble. It is better to give than receive. I cannot forsake a religion that is full of peace, love, humility and truth. I am trying to understand what your saying about yours.

Thank you Debbie
