Charles' mother is the head of the Church of England. No matter what he believes, he is first in line to succeed her in that position. Charles cannot possibly be "non-Christian", then, unless he denounces the throne. Charles becoming a Muslim is therefore about as logical as the Pope becoming a Jew, or one of the Chief Rabbis of Israel becoming a Buddhist.

Beliefs are greatly over-rated: Western religions, despite what their leaders say, are about personal loyalties and relationships.
