Obama will never make a good president : you can' t make a silk purse out of a sow's ear !

Reader comment on item: Obama, the Middle East and Islam - An Initial Assessment

Submitted by Anne-Marie Delcambre (France), Feb 4, 2009 at 08:11

In his first White House televised interview with the Al Arabiya news network , President Obama opens the way for a rapprochement with the Muslims. The president was cool..too cool....citing Muslim members of his own family and his experience of life in Indonesia (Muslim country) !

Obama makes a distinction between violent terrorists and...islamists, those who merely dislike America and Israel .

But his role is important, very important . He repositioned his national role and is playing with fire .

Why ?

Daniel Pipes has written articles asserting that Barack Obama had been a practicing Muslim (in his childhood). Dr Pipes has done very good work.

If Barack Obama was a Muslim..and has become a Christian, he is ...AN APOSTATE....." MURTAD"

In islam a murtad is a fair game.

Obama has NEVER DENIED HIS MUSLIM BACKGROUND. If Barack Obama was really a Muslim , that 's not important.

But I call attention to the fact that other Muslims , at least some of them, may regard him as one.
