in response to reader comment: President Obama's speech was frightening

I agree with you, Gloria Stewart. Obama's "speech" (and lack of perspective) is extremely frightening.

That he would openly reveal such ignorance to our enemies means one of two things: either he ignored his advisors beforehand regarding the interview (hard to imagine they would advise him to mention the "good relationship with Arabs 20-30 years ago"), or he decided to "wing it".

The arrogance of Obama reflects that of his party; namely, show "good will" towards others (even if you lie to do it) and that "good will" shall be returned in kind - whether it be sub-prime loans, welfare, special interest programs, rehabilitation of criminals, universal healthcare, or the Muslim world.

In short, Obama's narcissistic arrogance blinds him to truth.

As I'm writting this, Obama is on TV with Canada's Prime Minister. Obama - "In the last several years, we've taken our eye off the ball; that's why I'm moving troops [from Iraq] to Afghanistan....."

Someone should tell Obama that roadside bombs attacks and fatalities in Iraq are down 90% over the last two years; along with an 88% drop in troop fatalities.

Obama will never, never admit Iraq a success. This not only insults our previous President, it insults hundreds of thousands of our armed forces and their families. Again, Obama's form of arrogance is the most dangerous (and frightening) kind - it comes cloaked in "good will" and eloquent speech - and it will ruin us.
