that was rubbish

Reader comment on item: Obama, the Middle East and Islam - An Initial Assessment
in response to reader comment: Dear Infidel

What he said was rubbish. Allah is not a moon God.

As for the YHWH being in the Quran. It is in the Quran. Y H W H means, "He who is self-existing, self-sufficient', or, more concretely,'He who lives'" the abstract conception of pure existence being foreign to Hebrew thought. There is no doubt that the idea of life was intimately connected with the name Yhwh from early times. He is the living God, as contrasted with the lifeless gods of the heathen, and He is the source and author of life." http://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/view.jsp?artid=52&letter=N&search=YHWH#164 The essence of Y H W H permeates throughout the Quran especially in some verses in Quran like Q2:255 Ayat-ul-Qursi (The Verse of the Throne).

In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

Ayat al-Kursi

Allahu la ilaha illa huwa Al -Hayyul-Qayyum
La ta'khudhuhu sinatun wa la nawm
lahu ma fi as-samawati wa ma fil-'ard
Man dhal-ladhi yashfa'u 'indahu illa bi-idhnihi
Ya'lamu ma bayna aydihim wa ma khalfahum
wa la yuhituna bi shai'in min 'ilmihi illa bima sha'a
Wasi'a kursiyuhus-samawati wal ard
wa la ya'uduhu hifdhuhuma wa Hu wal 'Aliyul-Adheem

Allah! There is no god but He - the Living, The Self-subsisting, Eternal.
No slumber can seize Him Nor Sleep.
His are all things In the heavens and on earth.
Who is there can intercede In His presence except As he permitteth?
He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures As) Before or After or Behind them.
Nor shall they compass Aught of his knowledge Except as He willeth.
His throne doth extend Over the heavens And on earth, and He feeleth No fatigue in guarding And preserving them, For He is the Most High. The Supreme (in glory). Al-Baqarah 2: 255

The believer who recites it following an obligatory salah is under the Care and Protection of Allah until the commencement of the next prayer. "Al-Hayyul-Qayyum" – The Living, Self-Subsisting is the essence of who Allah is and permeates throughout the Quran. I think this verse sums up the essence of what Y H W H means, "He who is self-existing, self-sufficient', or, more concretely,'He who lives'". http://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/view.jsp?artid=52&letter=N&search=YHWH#164
