Roger and the cheap jibes on Islam

in response to reader comment: Jewish Women and Headcoverings

It's true the Muslims aren't the origin of either laws on modesty or dress forms. Although wearing a form of veil for men and women was a practical dress as well in the desert - given the primative technology of the ancient time. Whether you believe it or not Islam does claim to be descendent of Jeudo-Christianty.

The so called Modesty Police is hardly the norm, in the Muslim world either. Although there are strong cultural forces as well male chauvinism in Muslim world that dictates what norm is.

Judaism has always had small followers, a religion mostly based on a single ethnicity. Un-like Islam which does go around quite a bit of the old globe and cover a multitude of languages, enthinicites, people and cultures. Given the time period as well, if you look at history Shariah Law too has been practised ithe given varities as well. Its hardly the same comparison or a fair one. I am not saying Jews were completely well teated, but if you look at spansih rule of under Muslims, Jews were better treated under Islam then Christianty ever had in Europe. 6 million Jews were already dead before rest of Europe manage to stop the holocaust.
