Losing Our Country, Losing Ourselves

Reader comment on item: Islamists in the Courtroom

How can America possibly survive as the nation we know when we are being inundated by millions of illegal Mexicans who refuse to assimilate and, even worse, seek to reclaim five southwestern states into their La Raza/Actatl empire? At the same time, FIVE YEARS AFTER 9/11, we let in Muslims like "free base" who seek to destroy our way of life and throw us all on prayer rugs and in burqas!

How can we survive in an age of terror when our own government refuses to enforce the law and secure our borders, or when cities like Cambridge declare themselves illegal sanctuaries in violation of federal law? How can we survive when organizations like Soros' Open Sore Society and the ACLU throw millions of dollars and lawyer hit squads at local governments like Hazelton PA and Farmer Branch TX when they enact laws and pass ballot measures to fill the void left by the federal government? How can we survive when millions of our own citizens believe the lie that it was we who attacked the WTC on 9/11, or hate our nation to the point of siding with oir enemies?

The stink of rampant moral and financial corruption in this country is reminiscent of the smoke that filled the air of Rome as Nero fiddled. It is obvious to me that only an apocalyptic calamity like a nuclear or WMD attack will wake us from our stupor. Six years after 9/11 it is obvious to me that we have gone back to sleep, at least those of us who were ever awake in the first place.

The Statue of Liberty holds high the torch of freedom in its right hand. In its left, a book representing the rule of law. When the rule of law is wiped away, as it is in so many cases these days, it will not be long before freedom is displaced by anarchy.
