Reader comment on item: Islamists in the Courtroom
in response to reader comment: To True Believer?

If you force your daughter to marry against her wishes or before she has reached the age of maturity you will be corrected. If you murder your daughter because she chose a life partner according her wishes, or forcibly prevent her from getting educated, you will be proscecuted, That is her right ensured by the laws of the land and being a Muslim doesnot give you any excemption. Nuns are always free to leave their orders and many have done so.

Nobody threw acid on their faces or raped them for indecent exposure tried to force them back into their fold. Sikhs or jews grow long beards but there is no talibanazition in Israel or Punjab that makes growing of the beard mandatory. I think my post clearly states that I have no problem with your beliefs or practices (growing beard included) if it does not conflict with the laws of the land or the freedom of others (including your wife and daughter). You have not read my post carefully. Your daughter or wife is also a citizen who is protected by the laws of the land unlike in mollahdom. You have no right to treat them as you wish simply because you are not God. If you want to rule your house like a tyrant then you must go to some mollahdom or sheikhdom where such medieval crap is permitted.

If the law permits some one to run naked, I wont stop him. I will only have a problem if he/she tries to strip me against my will. I hope this is clear to you.
