Mythical or mystical or just worldly...all options would be a great relief to Muslims and non-Muslims. I agree that the whole system is indeed "damned" and damning. As I mentioned before, the Turkish Directorate of Religious Affairs was recently busy reversing the abrogation doctrine so that Meccan verses abrogate Medina verses. This is a major break, and I wonder if it is not being sold to the imams as one big taqiye, because Islam is militarily weak in the world, as Mohammed was in Mecca. Wait until they all migrate! They can do this with some effectiveness because all of the imams, practically, are on the Government payroll, and the general secularism of Turkish culture makes it a popular move.
