Dr. Pipes

I spent some time reading al-Ahram in Arabic and I read many of the comments left by the readers about the bombing of the Coptic Church in Alexnadria and here is a sample:

1. Dee mu'amira sahioniya or this must be a Zionist (and I'm not kidding you) plot and I guess if you can have a Zionist shark (re: the shark attack in the Red Sea) then anything is possible

2. Farraq tasud or divide and rule so who is to be blamed here? you guessed it! al-sahayyina or the Zionists

3. Mafeesh fayda or there is no hope and this was posted by a Copt

4. Islam is the religion of peace!

Oh there is more Tariq al-Homayed of al-Sharq al-Awsat which is a Saudi owned publication so it very much reflects the point of view of the Saudis and you will find his article "el-Nasara Egypt's Copts" in aawsat.com/english/news.asp?section=2&id=23625 as it seems that the saudis are not very happy about what happened in Alexnadria. In his article he is responding to a comment that was left by a poster and this is the theory of the poster:

"Don't you see that the attempt to strengthen the el-Nasara in Egypt the Egyptian regime flirting with them is not out of love for them but rather to weaken the Islamists"

Now how did this little therory led to the bombing of the Chruch? We really do not know

For the readers: the word el-nasara in Quranic Arabic is al-Nassara or the Christians and it is not even an Arabic word as it is a Syriac word from Nasira (Nazerene) and in today's Arabic it is supposed to be an insult

The Muslim mind is just amazing
