Reader comment on item: Q&A: Remaking a Religion

Submitted by Joe Six-Pack (United States), Jan 1, 2011 at 19:53

I am pleased that Dr. Pipes is so optimistic. He is much more knowledgeable than I concerning Islam.

However, I have studied warfare for more than 40 years. I see more issues concerning Islam that are worth waging war over than in any other conflict I have studied. He is quite correct in that the change will be ugly. With human nature being what it is, it cannot be any other way. The question is, how bad will it get? Will it go out of control? Wars are difficult, if not impossible to contain and control.
