Reader comment on item: "Islam" Does Not Mean "Peace"
in response to reader comment: Yes, there are good and bad people in every group

Submitted by Oscar Navarro (United States), Jun 13, 2007 at 00:08

Dear Angela,

Yes, every group - political, religious, social, etc.., etc.., - has it's bad apples (some more than others) but where we diverge is in the insinuation that it's the extremists that have corrupted Islam. Actually, these guys ARE the true practicioners of Islam. Unlike the "people of the Book" a true Muslim has a duty to follow the literal interpretation of the Koran any Muslim that deviates is an apostate. This makes it impossible for there to be moderate Muslims. It would be better for the more intelligent Muslims to renounce their faith and adopt another religion or philosophy.
