This is what you wrote

>The reference is to Islam "the submission" to (God)

So our dear Angela is saying that the word islam means: Submission (to God) and this is indeed what the master of the muslim masora Suyuti have said. But this is based on the reading of Q2:136 and the "wa nahnu lahu muslimoon"

Notice that the word in Arabic for (we have) "surrendering" is: MUSTASLIMOON. A very different word (oh the nasty root and stems) and this indeed puzzled the masorites but in time the word Muslimoon was read as mustaslimoon and no one would debate that indeed the word muslimoon means those that surrender (to Allah) (this is not unlike the Quranic word Ruum or Greeks which is a laon word from Syriac and the fact that the Arabic language have the following words fort he word the Greeks: al-ighreeq and al-yunaniyoon. But in time the word Ruum became an accepted Arabic word for the word the Greeks).

So what happened to the word mustaslimoon? It acquired a non religious meaning for the word "to surrender" or yastaslim

>that brings peace or is peace itself

Well any religion can bring peace to its followers more later so what is your point?

>The enormous body of literature written across centuries and based on this translation

Notice that our dear Angela is saying in her convoluted English that

1. there is a body of literature that she knows about but will not share it with us.

2. and this body of literature translates (?) the word islam as salam. Well I would like to see her evidence from the following sources:

A. Lisan al-3Arab or the gold standard of the Arabic language ma3ajim or dictionaries.

B. References from the Muslim masora

C. References from kutub al-nahw wa al-qawa3id

And like I say the following will not be regarded as references:

A. Wikipedia

B. Tendentious Muslim web sites

C. Our dear Angela's "EDUCATED" Muslim friends

>this translation provides ample support for peace as a legitimate and possible an ultimate translation of (the word) islam

Now we have bizarre logic and poor English composition, becuase one can very much paraphrase the above:

"The enormous body of literature written across centuries and based on this translation provides ample support for peace and a legitimate and possible an ultimate translation for the words: Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism, Judaism, Paganism, Buddhism, the religion of ancient Egypt etc...

So congratulations our dear Angela the words: Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, Sikhism, paganism, Judaism etc.. also mean" peace.

Also, notice that she did not realize at the time that there is such thing as root system and stems from the root and the root SLM has different stems and salam and islam come from different stems. But in her bogus logic she tells us because the two words come from SLM then islam really mean salam. Well then an infidel is a village and a village is an infidel (kafr means village and kafir means infidel).

The truth is the word Islam and salam have nothing in common ecxept a common root...
