Hi Sophie

Reader comment on item: "Islam" Does Not Mean "Peace"
in response to reader comment: Translation of Quais, Mafish Maskhara, Majnun

Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Jun 28, 2007 at 18:03

We agree on majnun. I have an Egyptian Arabic dictionary and could not find an entry for the word Quais and notice that Egyptians pronounce the letter qaf as alif (eg: qal would be in Egyptian Arabic" Aal) so I doubt that this is an Egytptian Arabic word. How do you spell the word in Arabic?

As for mafish maskhara it means no more ill manners or Debauchery (see also the word khla3)

Good, I can learn a lot from you Sophie, thanks.
