SLM is called a root not a constructionReader comment on item: "Islam" Does Not Mean "Peace" Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Jun 12, 2007 at 21:07 Madam it is called a root. I have never heard a Muslim whose native tongue is Arabic or any one who really understands Arabic grammar linking the words Islam and salam. I only hear it from ignorant tablighees and Muslim converts. So which one are you? And how many times do I have to tell you that the fact that the words Salam and islam belong to the same root SLM does not mean very much as they belong to two different stems. If you do not get that much you would really be beyond help. Now you are chaning your mind and telling us that "Does Islam mean peace or not to Muslims" The clear answer is it could mean peace. This does not mean that the words Islam and salam have anything in common except a common root. Do you get it?
