moslem speaking countriesReader comment on item: How Many Muslims in the United States? Submitted by Joe Kaffir (United States), Oct 19, 2006 at 01:46 Dear insulted person of a moslem speaking country: Only people of moslem speaking countries could be offended by such a term. I personally find it to be a wonderfully condescending pejorative. Anyway, exactly when did it become law, that the spelling of the word "moslem" came to be changed and by whom? I grew up speaking American English and the correct spelling of "moslem" has always been "moslem". In days of yore, the term mohammedan was used. So try to get on with your life and stop being offended by everything that intentionally insults islam (I won't give it the dignity of a capital letter). I have the same amount of respect for islam as islam has for me. Cheers! Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
