The estimates made by muslim organizations is most accurateReader comment on item: How Many Muslims in the United States? Submitted by Mohammed (United States), Mar 2, 2008 at 12:32 As regarding your claims that the Islamic estimates are overblown: counting how many mosques are there in the United States, the mosque's capacity is previousely known. When the number of believers reaches the mosque capacity on Fridays (which happens in the vast majority of mosques in the US), thats a relatively accurate minimum number of muslims in that region (taking into account that not all muslims go to the mosque on Fridays). Then summing up with all the other mosques in the United States, gives the minimum total number of Islamic faith followers. As you see it is easy and much more efficient than the surveys which are based on telephone calls.
