What is a "moslem speaking country"?Reader comment on item: How Many Muslims in the United States? Submitted by Just Curious (United States), Oct 18, 2006 at 18:08 Uh what exactly is a "moslem speaking country"? Moslem, which is actually spelled Muslim, is the name of a person who follows Islam. It is not a language! Now Arabic...THAT is a language! There are many Arabic speaking countries where all the people are not Muslim. In fact where most of the people are not Muslim. Just as there are non-Arabic speaking countries where some of the people living there are Muslim. So I ask again, what exactly is a "moslem speaking country"? Please, the next time you wish to make a disrespectful statement about anyone or any group of people, make sure that you are not completely IGNORANT about those people or the situation. It will make for a much better insult. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
