Reader comment on item: How Many Muslims in the United States?

Submitted by Dawud Abu Bakr (United States), Sep 19, 2010 at 11:23

Being A Muslim American, Why are we so worry about how many Muslims live in America? This is America and every religion has inflated their numbers to push their cause! Now just look at how people say that Catholicism or Christianity is the world largest religion they say they had over 2 Billion members. Islam is suppose to be second with 1.6 billion members. And Judaism is third with 11,5 Million members. These numbers are just a way to tell people who to be scare of. There is about 5.3 Billion people in the world and most people don't truly understand each other. Just like with Islam People don't know that Islam was the first religion in the world to offer freedom of religion that a fact! not the Christians nor the Jews offer that. Islam was the first religion to offer women rights not Susan B. Anthony! Islam was the first religion to make its religion book available to anyone who wanted one not the Torah nor the Bible which was only allow to those in the church or temple and only to those that was over those places. You couldn't have a Bible in your home until the late 19th century that a fact. Islam was the first religion to offer rules of engagement of war with your enemies that you could harm the Elderly, Children, Women, Sick person nor burn down buildings nor fields. And if your enemy lay down his weapon you couldn't kill him. If you took prisoners you had to feed them just as you would feed yourself, not the Jews nor the Christians or the Geneva Treaties did that first. So before people jump down on Islam check your facts first before you open your mouths or write something that you have no knowledge about. P.S. there are so many others beautiful things that Islam gave to the world as a hold! These I mention are but just a few. Wasalaam
