Egyptian/Jordanian Rule

Reader comment on item: Solving the "Palestinian Problem" [with the No-State Solution]

Submitted by saberman (United States), Jan 10, 2009 at 11:10

This would work if the whole world got behind and supported it with lots of financial aid and military assistance to keep the regions adjoining Israel disarmed and relatively prosperous. Otherwise it might destabilize Egypt and Jordan. A big problem is that much of the world does not really want a peaceful solution with a stable Israel that remains largely Jewish. But if Obama would support this, perhaps the combined strength of the US and Israel alone might be enough to make this work.

The US is over-stretched already, however. Maybe somebody could convince the Chinese that a peaceful Middle East might be a good investment for their sovereign wealth fund. In fact, the Chinese are converting to Christianity like crazy. Just convince a couple million of them to become Jews and bring them to Israel as part of the deal. That would take care of the demographic problem as well.
