Qaddafi of Libya could help solve the "Palestinian Problem".

Reader comment on item: Solving the "Palestinian Problem"

Qaddafi is SO concerned about the so-called 'Palestinians'. Instead of suggesting Israel to be named "Israstine", why can't he accommodate ALL the 'Palestinians' in his own vast nation, that has a lot of vacant land?

Libya is scarcely populated. It has about 700,000 sq.miles and a population around 6 million. Libya also has oil wealth & has the 5th highest GDP among African nations. The Palestinians can certainly find suitable employment there.

Qaddafi has been supporting the PLO for quite some time, ever since he became the leader of Libya in a coup in 1969. He can very well take in ALL the Palestinians, who may have the same genealogical links to the Berber Libyans, due to their ancient commercial connections with the Phoenicians of Tyre. The Palestinian Arabs claim to be descendants of these same people.

Palestinians will not have any difficulty pledging allegiance to the Libyan flag that is just green, almost similar to the Hamas, but without the scribble on it. So no more burning of Israeli flags in Israel for them.

Most probably, Qaddafi can straighten out all these so-called Palestinian terrorists, because he does not allow freedom of speech, press, etc., with poor prison conditions for those arrested. They can be imprisoned for life, unlike the revolving-door prison policy they have experienced in Israel. They will also appreciate Israel then, because Libya has a very poor record in the area of human rights.
