KOSOVO SOLUTION FOR ISRAELI - PALESTINIAN CONFLICT

Reader comment on item: Solving the "Palestinian Problem" [with the No-State Solution]

Submitted by Ghulam Muhammed (India), Jan 7, 2009 at 04:39

The way the two sides are engaged in fight to death scenario, I think we should advance the Kosovo type of solution for occupied Palestine land. Let the area be first turned over to UN trusteeship to ensure that the territory is out of control from both sides. !. Israel will be out of all its occupation rights and duties under international law. 2. Palestinians would not need any armed struggle to engage Israel and get their freedom under UN rule. Of course, basic situation and cast of stakeholders differs from that of Kosovo; but in terms of conflict resolution, the role of UN trusteeship should be welcomed by the world as tie-breaker. Reasonable peacemakers in Israel as well as in the US and Europe could possibly see a hope in following this model of resolution of Palestine statehood aspirations, as was the case of Kosovo.
