the desolation of GazaReader comment on item: Solving the "Palestinian Problem" Submitted by Rebecca Moulds (United States), Jan 7, 2009 at 17:32 Hosni Mubarak may not want Gaza, but his presidency will come to an end, and the next president of Egypt (Gamal Mubarak?) may well draw in Gaza under Egyptian rule; it could be called the "Egyptian Commonwealth of Gaza" or something to that effect. Gaza seems to have been abandoned by one and all. Zephaniah 2:4 states that "Gaza shall be forsaken"; that is a prophecy for the future. But until that happens, it seems that Gaza cannot take care of itself and needs a helping hand. Perhaps under the umbrella of another country, Gaza will flourish, but somehow I doubt it; its past history disclaims it, and its future is obscure.
