in response to reader comment: You still did not answer my quesion about ayat al-sayf

I forgive you for the insults Dhimmi and I am sorry we could not have an intelligent discussion. I have already answered about those Surahs and about abrogation so I won't repeat myself over and over. If it was on another person's reply, you can go find it if you care. Although somehow I don't think you do.

Originally, I was here posting about alternative methods of counter-terrorism, but since most of you on here are more interested in trying to get me to defend Islam or trying to convince yourself that I'm some secret Muslim, I'm just wasting time here. This post will be my last one on here.

I pray to God, Jesus, Buddah, Winnie the Pooh, and Zeus that all of you on here will open up your minds a bit instead of thinking in black and white terms by lumping all Muslims together based on your own interpretations of Islam and your own hatred for them based on what you watch on FOX news.

It is sad, but I don't think I'll get many here to think outside their current world view clouded by fear and hatred. In anthropology we simply call it, "fear of the other" and find it to be at the heart of most human conflicts. Good ol' inter species competition for land, religion, power, resources, status, etc... The masses predictably fall into lock step as hatred and fear is stirred up by leaders whether you are a Jihadi being pysched up for blowing yourself up or you are a fat American housewife in her mid-40's who's scared to death of being blown up by terrorists and is demanding her congressman that we bomb some Muslim country as quickly as possible to do something about those awful people. All of it boils down to fear and hatred of others. Islam may very well be based on that as well.

My goal isn't to defend it. My goal is to encourage the best aspects of Islam and of Muslims in order to move them more towards a modern religion compatible with the West. If you don't agree with helping to make Islam into a modern religion, then go rant and scream at Daniel Pipes and accuse him of being a closet Muslim or tell him to go back to Pakistan.
Our goals are the same, but we just have different ideas of how to achieve them.

That is what I was here to discuss.
Ah well I tried... sadly I have better luck talking sense into Muslim extremists.

Take care ya all.

Chris G.
