If he is smarter, he may be a traitor

Reader comment on item: Shoeless George Bush[ Discusses Islam]
in response to reader comment: smarter than he sounds

Submitted by Charles Martel (United States), Aug 27, 2007 at 15:54

I am torn about whether Bush is as stupid as he seems on Islam and several other things.

I see three main alternatives:

  1. he's simply as stupid as he seems
  2. he's really smart in a way we can't appreciate and loyal
in the way you're suggesting (and we all hope)
  3. he's smart in the sense that he knows what he's doing
but it is fundamentally a sell-out to Saudi oil influence
I fear that it is 3 (which is actually worse than 1, of course) because I think that it is clearly 3 on the Mexican border issue -- he wants a short-term boost to the economy from hordes of illegals even though he knows his voting base hates it.

He is actively feinting on sealing the border while not doing so -- proving to my satisfaction that he is consciously lying/misleading on the border.

I can't provide crystal-clear evidence for alternative 3 on the Islam issue, but I strongly, fearfully believe it based on the other example.
