the bush legacyReader comment on item: Shoeless George Bush[ Discusses Islam] Submitted by john w mcginley (United States), Jul 3, 2007 at 11:42 Nothing which President Bush can or will do for his remaining time as a lame-duck president will erase his blunder (whose roots were in his virtual idolotrization of Cheney and Rusmfeld) of radically low-balling the number of troops for his Iraq initiatve and the, yes UNFORGIVABLE, failure to have rememdied that horrible decision before the end of 2003 when it had already become apparent that Iraq was falling into a quagmire absent real control and security in the country. One does not call for a constitutional convention in a situation of chaos. The worst part of the Bush fumble is that it frittered away his own political capital and cancerously ate away at our country's emotional capital for sustaining the spirit which energized our country after 9-11. The firing of Rumsfeld and the "surge" was too little too late. The Bush legacy? It's a horror. It can be summed up in two disasterous words: "Hillary Cinton." John W.
